Overview

 

The treatment options available for erectile dysfunction often involve prescription medication, leaving patients with limited options and potential side effects. With over half of the male population affected by ED and the issue being a major factor in suicide, there was a pressing need for a non-invasive and effective treatment. Enter Eddie by Giddy, the first wearable ED treatment recognized by the FDA, offering a game-changing solution to this common problem.

Since its launch, Eddie has shipped over 5 million units worldwide, proving its effectiveness in helping individuals overcome ED and enjoy comfortable, spontaneous, and satisfying sexual experiences. Designed to fit almost every shape and size, Eddie is an innovative device that empowers individuals to take control of their sexual health and well-being.

Individuals seeking ED treatment need a website that they can trust, backed by doctors and scientific research. Our website is designed to be a safe and comfortable space for individuals to learn about Eddie, purchase the device, and access resources for sexual health education and awareness. As we continue to expand our reach and secure new contracts, we remain committed to our mission of improving sexual health and well-being for individuals around the world.

C&C Analysis

We are at the forefront of innovation in the ED treatment market with no direct competitors offering similar solutions. To ensure that we are providing the best possible experience for our customers, we conducted extensive research and analyzed industry leaders such as Phoenix (shockwave therapy device), Hims, and several others. Through this research, we were able to gain valuable insights into the ED treatment market and identify opportunities to differentiate ourselves and better serve our customers.

 

Interviews

We took a comprehensive approach to gather insights from our Eddie users. Through email outreach and a series of polls, we were able to interview 10 representative users. These individuals shared their experiences with purchasing and using our Eddie device. We discovered what our valued customers had to say about their experience with purchasing and also any problems they may have had along the way.

However, Bill has been struggling with erectile dysfunction for some time now. Despite trying various techniques and medications, he finds that the results are minimal and often requires extensive planning or a painful process. Bill is eager to get back into dating, but his ED is holding him back. He is searching for a solution that can help him regain his confidence and overcome this obstacle in his life.

Our user-centric approach led us to focus on creating key touchpoints that would instill confidence and comfort in our users. We honed in on the homepage, product page, and "How it Works" section, ensuring that each was designed to provide a seamless and reassuring experience. Our goal was to create a space where users could easily access information, understand our product, and feel confident in their purchasing decision.

 

Hopepage

During the design of our homepage, we carefully considered the imagery we wanted to use. Our goal was to visually communicate the lifestyle that Eddie by Giddy could help support and to ensure that the images we used were premium and trustworthy. This included showcasing illustrations and featuring expert doctors to further reinforce the credibility and reliability of our brand.


Product Page

The product page was designed with the user in mind, focusing on highlighting the product through large and impactful images that showcase it in a variety of scenarios. Our goal was to provide a clear and comprehensive understanding of the product, so we included important information on sizing, usage, and any other questions that may arise. We wanted to instill peace of mind in our users and provide a transparent and informative experience.


How It Works

The "How it Works" page was a critical component of our design, as it serves as a comprehensive guide for anyone who needs assistance with the Eddie device. This page provides a step-by-step process, frequently asked questions, and other helpful information to ensure a smooth and comfortable user experience. Our goal was to provide a clear and concise understanding of the product, so users feel confident and informed in their use of Eddie.

Where We Landed

Wireframes

Upon reaching the wireframe stage, we rapidly transformed our creative concepts into tangible designs. By incorporating large, eye-catching images, concise text, and engaging illustrations, we aimed to facilitate users in obtaining the information they sought both swiftly and efficiently. This approach not only enhanced the visual appeal of our website but also optimized the user experience by presenting the relevant content in a clear, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing manner.


Homepage

For Eddie's homepage, we adhered to the theme of featuring a relatable, large image that resonated with individuals experiencing ED. The easily interchangeable image ensures a dynamic user experience. We strategically placed "Find your size" and "Take the quiz" buttons in the header to address the common concerns of our users regarding device compatibility and appropriate sizing. This approach alleviates their uncertainties and streamlines the purchasing process.

Subsequently, we incorporated quotes from article excerpts about our device, along with a wealth of informative content in the form of videos, illustrations, and accordions full of information. These resources aim to instill confidence in potential customers as they consider making a purchase. Our meticulously crafted homepage design seamlessly blends visual appeal and user-centric functionality, creating an engaging and reassuring environment for our audience.


Product Page

The product page is designed to foster confidence among users by enabling them to select their frequency and girth for a precise size recommendation. Showcasing detailed images of the device, which can be updated as needed, further enhances the user experience. With a wealth of content distributed throughout the page, users are provided ample information to make informed decisions.

Several accordions house essential information, instilling confidence in users, while supplementary videos contribute to the page's trustworthiness and offer visual support. Additionally, the inclusion of in-depth reviews, sizing guidance, and a dedicated care line for addressing any questions further bolster users' assurance in the product. Our carefully curated product page strikes the perfect balance between providing comprehensive information and fostering a sense of trust and reliability.


How It Works

Finally, the inclusion of a comprehensive "How It Works" page was crucial to satisfying the needs of our sales team. This indispensable page offers an in-depth exploration of the device's functionality, proper usage, and addresses any lingering questions users may have as they seek an effective ED treatment. By providing such detailed guidance, this page has significantly contributed to boosting our conversion rates and remains an integral component of our strategy to deliver an informative and supportive experience that empowers users to confidently make a purchase.

Testing / How We Did / Prototype

 

Our testing process commenced prior to the launch of our latest design. By employing landing pages that replicated specific sections of the site, we gathered invaluable insights that influenced various aspects of our design. This iterative approach is maintained as we continue to update the Eddie website.

Our sales team consistently conducts A/B testing, unveiling crucial data on the effectiveness of various elements. Following the launch of the revamped Eddie website, we witnessed a doubling of sales and sustained growth month after month. This attests to the success of our data-driven, adaptive design strategy in meeting the needs of our users and driving business performance.

Key Takeaways

Creating a website that helps people is something I want to continue to do as I grow and learn as a designer. It was so fulfilling to be apart of something that has a greater goal and mission.


Insights

So many people struggle with ED. The fact there are very few ways that arent super invasive to help combat it is eyeopening and something I’m glad I got to learn about along the way.


Challenges

Working with a short timeline was hard but we overcame all the obstacles that stood in our way. We were able to double our sales in a 2-month sprint which was inspiring to hear after our rigorous timeline was met.


Favorite Step

Getting to create something that helps people! It’s by far the most fulfilling website I’ve been able to be apart of, over 5 million people and counting have purchased an Eddie and I couldn’t be more proud of the progress Eddie has made to help people.
